Gamecocks Launches Baseball Television Programming

The University of South Carolina baseball team will have at least nine televised games in the ESPN family of networks, with 38 more games on SEC Network Plus, it was announced this afternoon (Wednesday, February 17).

The Gamecocks open their television schedule on Sunday, March 7, with a first release at noon against Mercer. This game will be on the SEC Network. Carolina comes into play with the SEC with her game on Saturday, March 20, against Vanderbilt, broadcast on the SEC Network. The first pitch is at 12 pm Eastern time. Gamecocks will face Florida on Sunday, March 28 at noon on the SEC Network.

The annual trip to Charlotte to face North Carolina on Tuesday, April 6, will have a first presentation at 7 pm on the SEC Network. Carolina then hosts Missouri on Sunday, April 11 at noon on the SEC Network.

USC Athletics Communications and Public Relations

Carolina’s only appearance in the regular season on ESPNU is Thursday, April 15, with a first shot from the East at 7:30 pm at LSU. Seven days later, Gamecocks host Arkansas with a first performance at 7 pm on the SEC Network. The games on Ole Miss (Saturday, May 1 at 7:00 pm Eastern) and against the State of Mississippi (Sunday, May 9 at 2:00 pm) complete the TV program. Both games are on the SEC Network.

The network has a pair of wildcard slots on May 21st and 22nd. Carolina hosts Tennessee that weekend and can fit into these slots.

All home games at Founders Park and all non-televised SEC contests will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus. The schedule starts on Opening Day on Friday, February 19, against Dayton, with a first pitch at 4pm. SEC Network Plus will also stream the Clemson game at Fluor Field on Saturday, February 27th.

Baseball is one of 10 Gamecock sports during the spring season that will have athletics events broadcast live for fans to watch. This includes 99 different events, starting on January 2 and continuing through the end of May, and broadcast on multiple platforms, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, SEC Network Plus and Gamecocks Online.

All 53 regular season games will also be available on the Gamecock Radio Network. Flagship station, 107.5 FM, “The Game” is the home of Gamecocks.
