South Carolina’s preseason No. 1 women’s basketball had the remainder of its 2020-21 schedule today, when the Southeast Conference announced its league start. Among Gamecocks’ eight home games for the SEC, there will be two against teams that rank in the top 15 in the AP Preseason Poll and one against the border rival Georgia.
Gamecocks will face preseason No. 11 Kentucky twice as their permanent opponents at home and at home. They will also face Alabama and LSU twice this season. The conference schedule includes three Monday night games, including a battle with the No. 14 Arkansas preseason on January 18.
The South Carolina SEC roster starts on New Year’s Eve with Ole Miss heading to Colonial Life Arena and closes at preseason No. 13 Texas A&M on February 28. While the current SEC champion opens at home, the Gamecocks will play three of their top five on the road. In fact, South Carolina will not play consecutive home games until February, when Missouri and LSU arrive in the city on February 11 and 14. games of the season.

The SEC Tournament returns to Greenville, SC, for the third consecutive season, with the event starting on Wednesday, March 3, at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
In all, the Gamecocks’ 24-game schedule for 2020-21 includes nine games against teams ranked in the AP Preseason Top 25 – at No. 3 UConn (February 8), at No. 6 Mississippi State (January 28), at 8 NC State (December 3), No. 11 Kentucky (January 10, February 21), No. 13 Texas A&M (February 28), No. 14 Arkansas (January 18) and v. 21 Gonzaga (November 30). South Dakota (November 28) and Tennessee (February 18) also received votes in the vote.
The schedule of women’s basketball on television will be announced later, as will the schedules of all games.
Gamecocks are scheduled to open the 2020-21 season on Wednesday, November 25, at the Colonial Life Arena against College Charleston. With COVID-19 regulations limiting Colonial Life Arena’s capacity to 3,500, South Carolina has already sold out tickets for the season, but there are still plenty of opportunities for fans to get involved with the team and participate in game day.
Fans can join the G-Hive, which this season includes access to live video streams of practice periodically during the regular season, plus three themed T-shirts and a face cover and a 2021 calendar for $ 100.
