Gamecocks’ Aliyah Boston is Best Female Basketball Player of the Year

South Carolina’s distinguished sophomore, Aliyah Boston, was named The Athletic ‘s female basketball player of the year, after leading her team to first place in the NCAA tournament.

Boston averages a double-double with 14.1 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game. According to Pivot Analysis, Gamecocks spin the ball 4.6% less often when they are on the ground. Gamecocks finished second in the SEC during the regular season and won the conference tournament title.
