South Carolina Head Coach Shane Beamer hired Jimmy Lindsey to be the defensive line coach of the program. Lindsey, who spent the 2020 season training defensive finals in Illinois, replaces Tracy Rocker, who left for Auburn.
Lindsey is from Carolinas and has coaching experience alongside the new defensive coordinator Gamecocks Clayton White in Western Kentucky (2017-19) and new offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield in Chattanooga (2010-11). Lindsey now completes a defensive technical team that also counts on the linebacker trainer Mike Peterson and defensive defense technician Torrian Gray.
The Gamecocks defensive line returns senior Jabari Ellis, junior Rick Sandidge, second year Zacch Pickens and freshman Alex Huntley in the defensive tackle. Notable edge returners are senior Aaron Sterling, junior selection and first All-SEC team Kingsley Enagbare and freshmen Jordan Burch and Tonka Hemingway.
