Beamer was announced as the 36th football coach at the University of South Carolina on December 6th. Beamer, 43, has been an assistant coach at seven schools in the Football Bowl subdivision for 21 seasons. During his career, he trained in 17 bowl games, including a national championship game at the College Football Playoff, posted 18 seasons without a loss, six of them with double-digit wins and his teams won 62.5 percent of the games.
Beamer participated in the creation of programs throughout his career. He was part of three technical teams, where the head coach was in his first or second season at school. He joined the Lincoln Riley unit in Oklahoma in his second season, the Kirby Smart program in Georgia in his first season, and the Sylvester Croom team in Mississippi in his first season. He came from Oklahoma to Carolina, where he served as a technical assistant for the attack for the past three seasons.
