Square Enix has spent the last few years remastering some of its Final fantasy games and port them to new platforms. Final Fantasy X, first released on the PS2 in 2001, was remastered for the PS3 and Vita in 2013 and finally transferred to the Xbox and Nintendo Switch in early 2019. More recently, Square launched an excellent remaster of Final Fantasy XII.
While both can be purchased on Xbox One and Series X / S, neither is still on the Game Pass. This is easy to understand, as they are still potentially in high demand and also work very well on the switch. After a year waiting to play them on the Game Pass, I almost decided to buy them for the third time on Nintendo’s laptop during the holiday. I relented, however, and went back to playing Final Fantasy X on my Vita. I hope I’m not facing the same puzzle next Christmas.
