Game Boy-style platform Save me Mr. Tako returns to the windows after the break with the publisher Nicalis last year

Save Me Mr Tako, a Game Boy-style platform game about a useful octopus, is returning to stores in May after it closed after the developer split from publisher Nicalis. In a post by Patreon, developer Christophe Galati announced that Save Me Mr Tako would be receiving a definitive edition digitally on Steam and Nintendo Switch on May 5, 2021. Galati will publish his game on the PC via Steam, while Limited Run Games takes care of the console edition.Save Me Mr Tako is a tribute to the Game Boy era and features a pacifist octopus named Tako with the ability to thrive on land and water, who travels the world and mediates conflicts between humans and octopuses.

Its definitive new edition includes a series of updates, including numerous changes in quality of life, techniques and balance, as well as a system of tips, three difficulty modes, a jukebox, new border images and a new location in English.

Save Me Mr Tako was originally released in October 2018, but was removed from all digital stores two years later, after Galati separated from the original publisher Nicalis. At the time, no specific reason was given for the separation. However, Galati had previously alluded to problems with the release of game patches through Nicalis, indicating that Nicalis was fully in control of whether problems with the game were fixed or not. President of Nicalis, Tyrone Rodriguez responded on Twitter at the time that Save Me Mr Tako “has not yet recovered what we invested in it” and could not justify the resources to do the patch’s quality control. A Kotaku report around the same time indicated that Galati was not the only independent developer with this problem or the like.
