Galaxy Z Fold 2 starts receiving security patch from March 2021

Samsung became the first Android smartphone brand in the world to release the March 2021 security patch. The update was first released for the Galaxy Note 10 series in late February 2021, and the launch was then expanded to several other smartphones and tablets. The company has already started releasing the latest security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 began receiving the March 2021 security patch in China. The latest software update for the foldable phone, which comes with the firmware version F9160ZCS1DUC1, also includes bug fixes and stability improvements. In addition to Google’s own bug fixes, Samsung’s March 2021 security patch includes fixes for 19 vulnerabilities on Galaxy smartphones.

If you are a Galaxy Z Fold 2 user in China, you can check for the latest update by browsing to settings » Software update and touching Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download all the firmware from our firmware section and update it manually. We expect the South Korean company to release the latest security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in other parts of the world in the coming days.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 was originally released in August 2020 on Android 10 (One UI 2) and has been receiving monthly security patches consistently. The foldable smartphone received access to the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 two months ago and the One UI 3.1 update last month.
