Gal Gun Returns canceled on Xbox One after ‘productive discussions’ with Microsoft

Super Sexual Shooter suffers from ‘consistency problems’

Developer Inti Creates has announced that it is canceling the Xbox One version of its next remaster Gal Gun Returns, although development was completed on the Microsoft platform.

In a statement posted on Twitter yesterday, Inti Creates said that while Gal Gun Returns has a master ROM completely finished and ready for review, ongoing discussions with Microsoft led to the decision to cancel the Xbox port completely, citing that the developer could no longer “guarantee consistency of experience” across all platforms. Hmm …

Gal Gun Returns is a remastering of the notorious 2011 rail sniper Gal Gun, in which the player takes on the role of a male student – armed with a flurry of “Pheromone Arrows” – on a mission to find the girl of his dreams. To do this, the protagonist must remove the obsessive desire of an entire school full of girls, leading them to a state of “euphoria” with well-placed “ecstasy shots”.

While Inti Creates remains (slightly) obscure with your comments, it’s not difficult to read between the lines of what happened here – especially considering that the original Xbox 360 version of Gal Gun a patch issued by Microsoft was issued to restrict camera controls.

With regard to Inti Creates, Gal Gun Returns is still scheduled for release in the west, February 12, for PC and Nintendo Switch. Pre-order customers will pack a limited edition of the “Smells Like a Girl” label. Lordy.
