Gable Steveson waves at Vince McMahon after winning the NCAA championship

Gable Steveson, arguably the No. 1 university fighter in the world, waved to Vince McMahon on Twitter one night after reaching the pinnacle of university wrestling.

On Saturday, the Minnesota Gophers junior won the heavyweight title at the 2021 NCAA Championships with an 8-4 decision against No. 2 Mason Parris from Michigan. After his victory, Steveson celebrated with his somersault back on the carpet.

As noted, Bobby Steveson, Gable’s brother, is currently training at the WWE Performance Center. Paul Heyman has already considered the possibility of Gable joining the WWE. During a recent interview, Heyman said that college athletes like Brothers Steveson, Parker Boudreaux and Bronson Rechsteiner could be future headliners for WrestleMania.

As a college fighter, Steveson is now the NCAA Division I national champion, twice the Big Ten Conference champion [three-time finalist] and twice All-American from the University of Minnesota. He was also an excellent college fighter, as a four-time MSHSL champion [five-time finalist].
