O american idol the love story continues, as Gabby Barrett gave birth to her first son, a daughter, with her husband Cade Foehner. The ex-contestants were married in Texas in 2019 after competing with each other in the show’s 16th season.
On Monday, January 25, the “I Hope” singer shared her happy news on Instagram and revealed that she named her daughter Baylah May Foehner.
“I spent a very sweet week with our newest addition … I know our girl,” she wrote.
In August 2020, the musicians revealed that their family was growing. Cade, 24, shared on social media at the time: “I have the most amazing wife in the world. I can’t find words strong enough to honor her because she honored me for giving me a girl!”
Gabby told her side of the story to People, telling the exact moment when the 20-year-old discovered she was pregnant.

“We were in Texas visiting Cade’s family side,” explained the country star. “And it’s funny because I didn’t think it was. Around lunchtime, I remember taking the test and my eyes almost crossed! I came running to Cade and thought, ‘Oh my God, I think I am.’ That was all I said, and he knew what it meant. I started to cry and it was very sweet. “
Since then, the pair has been preparing their home for their daughter’s grand entrance. In December, Gabby posted a lovely video of Cade practicing diaper changing on a stuffed animal, calling it “101 diaper preparation”. Then, on January 12, she hinted that she would give birth “Any day now”, sharing a photo of a pink outfit she had chosen.
One thing we are sure to miss about Gabby’s pregnancy journey is her stunning red carpet maternity outfits. Cade stood on the moon watching his life partner come into the spotlight. He commented on Instagram in November: “My precious wife, who is carrying our baby, was at CMA Country Christmas tonight. 2020 was a great year for the new mother, as she was nominated for the ACM Awards, CMT Music Awards and CMA Awards. Your debut album, Gold mine, fell in June.
“Seeing how far music has progressed in a year has been crazy,” Gabby told E! February 2020 news of his first single. “It’s really cool to hear that now and see everyone taking an interest in it.”
