Fujifilm announced the X-E4, which it describes as the most compact interchangeable lens camera in its X series line. At 121.3 mm x 72.9 mm x 32.7 mm, it is more than an inch thinner than its predecessor, the 2017 X-E3.
The XE series fits the Fujifilm line as an option for enthusiastic photographers who prefer a rangefinder-style design to DSLR-type cameras like the X-T4, but do not need the X-Pro3’s optical viewfinder. Alternatively, it can be seen as an interchangeable, EVF-only version of the X100V.
Like the X100V, there is a 26.1 megapixel X-Trans sensor, dedicated dials for shutter speed and exposure compensation and a new tilt screen that is flush with the body. The shutter button now also has a “P” setting for a fully automatic program mode. The grip on the front of the X-E3 has been completely removed.

For video, the X-E4 can capture 8-bit 4K / 30fps 4: 2: 0 video at 6K reduced resolution and store it on internal media or produce 10-bit 4: 2: 2 4K / 30fps video at its port HDMI. It is also capable of recording 1080p at 240fps.
The X-E4 will be launched in March for $ 849.95, only in black and silver. There is also a $ 1,049.95 kit that includes a new version of Fujifilm’s 27mm f / 2.8 pancake lens (photo above); unlike its predecessor, it is weather resistant and has an opening ring. It will be available separately in March for $ 399.95, as well as a new $ 799.99 70-300 mm f / 4-5.6 zoom lens.
