The Unified Police identified deceased skiers on Sunday:

  • Sarah Moughamian, 29, Sandy
  • Louis Holian, 26, Salt Lake City
  • Stephanie Hopkins, 26, Salt Lake City
  • Thomas Steinbrecher, 23, Salt Lake City

“If all I can say is if you met Steph, you knew what life was like,” said LauraAnn Drury, a friend of Hopkins. “She taught me to appreciate the smallest details that nature has to offer, that people have to offer.”

Hopkins was a registered nurse in the neurocritical care unit at the University of Utah Hospital. Her co-workers told FOX 13 that she was a true “health hero”.

β€œI think ‘hero’ is probably an understatement. She was always willing to be the first to get into dangerous situations, especially with COVID going on last year, ”said Brandon Sherrod, who worked alongside Hopkins at U of U Health. β€œShe never hesitated to go out of her way to help patients and prepare to care for COVID patients – or any patient in that regard. She was always willing to do what needed to be done. “
