LEBANON, Tenn. (WTVF) – Freezing rain and hail have caused dangerous travel conditions across Tennessee, leading to ice-related falls.
A multi-vehicle accident blocked the west lanes of Interstate 40 near Spence Lane for about two hours, but has since been released.

Earlier in the day, part of Interstate 40 West was closed in Wilson County after a tractor trailer was shaken in eastern Lebanon. The westbound lanes were closed for about 90 minutes, but have since reopened.
Tennessee’s highway patrol said that although the interstate has reopened, road conditions remain “icy”.

Mt. Juliet’s police issued a warning to drivers, saying the roads were dangerous. More wintry weather is expected this afternoon.

In Maury County, a semi-plow through a guardrail on I-65 at mile marker 43. Police said the driver was not injured.
