April is free PlayStation Plus the game schedule was officially announced. We already knew that Oddworld: Soulstorm would be on the agenda for PS5, but what else can subscribers expect?
Well, on PS4, we have a pretty amazing zombie theme going on. Days Gone, Sony Bend’s open world adventure, is at stake alongside the co-operative survival sniper Zombie Army 4: Dead War. which is already one of the PS Plus Collection games on PS5.
Although we are still looking at Oddworld: Soulstorm – stay tuned for this – we recommend the other two titles. In our Review of Days Gone PS4, we describe the game as “open world home cooking”:
The low point of Days Gone’s survival horror gives him just enough personality to distance him from the dozens of other open worlds already available. A dense selection of overlapping game mechanics makes the action fun, even though the title’s common mission design doesn’t always get the best of them. The story can float, and the overall package is not as polished as its PS4-exclusive counterparts – but when it comes to gaming comfort food, you could enjoy much worse snacks than this one.
And we received equally strong praise for the “best Rebellion game so far”, to which we attribute an 8/10 in our Zombie Army 4: Dead War PS4 Review:
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is one of the best cooperative-focused games on PS4. Its vigorous campaign features an impressive variety of levels, an excellent control scheme and pleasant game mechanics, while Horde mode tests your skills to the fullest. Rebellion created an experience with so much to see and do that it could take weeks for a group of players to master everything that was offered – a huge success for this type of game. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is an absolute mess of a title that is as cheeky as it is fun to play.
