Of February PlayStation Plus the games have been officially announced – and it is honestly a great line-up. We’ve known for a while that Destruction AllStars would be the February headline on PlayStation 5, but there’s more to next month’s selection than that.
Control: Ultimate Edition is also part of the deal, available on PS5 and PS4 – an inclusion we’ve never seen coming. And to top it off, we have Concrete Genie carefully crafted on PS4. Not bad, huh?
All three games can be downloaded from Tuesday, February 2nd. Destruction AllStars will be available for two months, until April 5.
Although we haven’t yet reviewed Destruction AllStars – keep your eyes open for full coverage of this next week – we recommend Concrete Genie in our 7/10 review:
Concrete Genie is a warm and cheerful experience that involves creativity in a unique way. Painting your way through Denska is effortless fun, and the geniuses who help Ash on his adventure are wonderful. Although this main thrust of the game is well done, the combat seems like an afterthought, as it is saved right at the end. This and some other minor problems prevent the game from greatness, but seen as a whole, it is definitely worth playing – and beautiful as an image too.
We haven’t reviewed the PS5 version of Control: Ultimate Edition yet, but we had fun with the original PS4 release in our 7/10 review:
There is no doubt that Control is a good experience, but it will not go into the history books. Its exploratory and combat-focused gameplay is a big highlight thanks to the skills that give you the chance to be creative, but the unreliable frame rate that comes with it ends the fun all too often. This is definitely worth playing, but this is as far as any substantial praise can go.
