Free NFL Agency, Day 2, 3, recap: Lions attack at midnight

After a smooth start to the free agency in which the Detroit Lions simply made way and passed ineffective players, on Tuesday’s midnight strike, Detroit made some aggressive moves that could pay dividends in 2021 and beyond.

First, Lions grabbed Jamaal Williams in an effort to finally fix the running back depth problem they’ve been dealing with for years. The move left Packers fans devastated, but how do we think it will fit in Detroit? Me, Ryan Mathews and Erik Schlitt analyzed our thoughts on the change.

But the Lions are not finished. A few minutes later, news broke that the Lions were also getting help from the other side of the ball, after sending a seventh round pick in 2023 to veteran defensive tackle Michael Brockers. We discussed what we think his role will be in Detroit and how he could help form a defensive front that can really be … good?

Of course, we also had to say goodbye to Matt Prater and Marvin Jones Jr., who were two of the most consistently good players in Detroit for the past five seasons. We then ended our mini-podcast with a discussion of how Kenny Golladay and his agent messed things up.
