Francisco Lindor gives Mets a taste of what’s to come

Observations of the Mets spring training game on Monday.

Frankie Says Relax

Francisco Lindor scored 2 to 3 with his first hits of the exhibition season in the Mets’ 9-5 loss to the Nationals in West Palm Beach. Lindor chose twice after starting the spring without hitting in seven strokes.

Kilome Crash

Franklyn Kilome launched the eighth inning and allowed two deserved runs in two strokes and a walk. He also launched one of the four wild throws from the Mets pitchers.

Caught my eye

Brad Hand, a left-handed appeaser that the Mets chased during the winter, hurled the sixth inning and allowed a well-deserved run with a hit and a walk. The Nationals signed a $ 10.5 million one-year contract with Hand.

Tuesday Schedule

Taijuan Walker is scheduled to make his Grapefruit League debut with the Mets, who will face the Cardinals in Port St. Lucie.
