Although not official, another strong report indicates that Lions are hiring Dan Campbell as the team’s chief coach. This comes from Jay Glazer, FOX Sports insider and it comes a day after several reports from NFL.com also indicated that Lions should hire Campbell as soon as he was available.
Campbell is currently the technical and technical assistant for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night in the NFC divisional round game. Lions cannot contact Campbell again until the Saints are eliminated from the postseason.
Glazer made his speech on the FOX program before the game.
Lions hired Rams as a collegiate director of recognition for Brad Holmes as the GM this week. He and Campbell have no clear connections. Campbell is a former elite NFL player who played for the Lions at the end of his career. He’s been with the Saints since 2016.
