Four reported COVID-19 deaths, 44 Brazos County residents hospitalized

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The Brazos County Sanitary District reported 105 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in the municipality of Brazos. Currently, there are 1,550 active cases.

Four new deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours: a white man hospitalized in his 60s, a Hispanic man hospitalized in his 60s, a Hispanic man hospitalized in his 90s and a white woman hospitalized in his 60s. s There were 174 deaths in the municipality of Brazos related to COVID-19.

13,418 patients are classified as recovered, which means they have had no fever for 72 hours, no medication to lower their fever, and it has been 10 days after the onset of symptoms.

30 percent of new confirmed cases are in the 18 to 24 age group.

There have been 3,094 probable cases in Brazos County since June 18, 2020. A probable case of COVID-19 is determined by a positive antigen test. Confirmed COVID-19 cases are determined by a positive PCR test. The health district conducts case investigations in all confirmed and probable cases.

There are currently 465 probable cases active and there are 2,629 probable cases recovered.

The total number of confirmed positive cases in the county since testing began is 15,142. 156,713 tests were carried out.

The total occupancy of hospital beds in Brazos County is 80% and the total occupancy of beds in the ICU is 123%.

Currently, there are 44 residents in the municipality of Brazos hospitalized for COVID-19.

State Trauma Service Area N

Most of the Brazos Valley falls under the N state trauma service area (Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties). The Trauma Service Area N currently reports 585 hospital beds with 74 available beds. According to the most recent data from the state, the region has 0 ICU beds available and 52 fans available. The latest state update listed 110 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients currently in the hospital.

Texas A&M University

The Texas A&M COVID-19 Dashboard reported 34 new cases and 430 active cases on January 24.

Currently, the university reported 4,890 positive cases, 7.2 percent of the tests were positive.

The last update of the panel was provided on January 27, 2021.

Across the state, Texas has an estimated 376,862 active cases and 1,845,210 recoveries. There were 2,273,119 reported cases and 19,329,087 tests in total (viral and antibody).

To date, 34,701 Texans have died from COVID-19.

Currently, 1,571,093 Texans have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 297,503 Texans have been fully vaccinated. Across Texas, 3,012,250 doses were shipped.

254 out of 254 counties in the state of Texas are currently reporting cases. Harris County leads the state in total cases, with 301,173 cases reported.
