Forward Dickerson, the nation’s No. 8 cornerback, signs with Oregon Ducks over Nebraska

Entering its Signature Day ad, 247Sports’ four-star prospect, Forward Dickerson, was the country’s best unsigned cornerback.

Early Wednesday morning, that was no longer the case as Westside High School’s 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back (Omaha, Nebraska) announced its commitment to the Oregon Ducks over Nebraska and others at 247Sports National Signing Day Show.

Moments later, the official Twitter account of the Oregon Ducks football program announced that he had signed his binding National Letter of Intent:

According to 247Sports Midland recruitment analyst Gabe Brooks, Dickerson is another Oregon signatory with an NFL projection:

“Long lever corner with somewhat light bezel and very good length. Wingspan verified at 6 ft-4. Nervous athlete showing an impressive explosion in a short area as well as top speed. The track profile is compatible with sub-11.00 100 and 22.3 200. Fluid athlete with natural backpedal and agility of redirection. Good ball skills supported by extensive bidirectional experience and production. He started at WR and DB for Nebraska A state champion as a senior. You should add a little bit of dough and strengthen it, which will help with wider widths and combat effectiveness at P5 level. Talented singing perspective with proven athleticism, length and ball skills. High level projects with NFL Draft potential. “

In need of replacements after the departure of the main secondary members Jevon Holland, Thomas Graham Jr., Deommodore Lenoir and Brady Breeze, Oregon secured Dickerson and American cornerback Jaylin Davies of Under Armor, as well as a pair of four star safety devices – Daymon David (Maryland) and Jeffrey Bassa (Utah).

Overall, the Oregon class remains 6th nationally, but Dickerson’s commitment ensures that the Ducks will end up as the most important recruiting class at the Pac-12 Conference for the third consecutive cycle.
