Fortnite v15.21 update patch notes: Predator, Mythic Item, New Quests

Today’s Fortnite v15.21 update shook things up again in the Battle Royale game, adding Predator and a new Mythic Item to the mix.

The game has been subject to weekly updates for a long time, which means that the content is updated in a few weeks, and in others, things can change a little more dramatically.

On January 20, after the release of the most recent patch, it is fair to say that many things have not been fixed.

In the absence of official patch notes, which have been retained even before Chapter 2 began, we round up changes already confirmed by players and leaks.

Predator

Predator is the last crossover character to arrive in Fortnite, now available to fight at the local Stealthy Stronghold. The skin is also arriving at the Fortnite Item Shop, along with some cosmetics – like a pickaxe.

New mythical item: predator cap device

One of the biggest and most exciting elements of Predator’s arrival is the new Mythical Item that he adds to the game. The Predator Cloak Device is now active in the game and, once found and activated, players can use it to remain invisible.

New Missions

More missions were added to the Battle Pass for Season 5, after the v15.21 update.

Bug fixes and other changes

According to the official Fortnite Trello board, several things have changed – including general issues and things that specifically affect the BR mode.

Main general problems

  • When playing Fortnite, players cannot create system-level groups that include players on PS5 and PS4.
  • The Jumpshot Outfit has no facial hair.
  • The Banner menu may not respond to controller inputs, making it difficult for players to edit their Banner with a controller or the Banner not updating correctly.
  • We are investigating an issue that is causing players to have a long loading screen after completing a session on the PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
  • The sound effect of certain actions, such as opening a chest or hitting a weak spot, can be delayed.

Royal battle

  • In competitive playlists, players do not have access to their persistent stock of bars. Instead, they receive a set amount at the start of each match. This is intentional. However, your final Bar total in competitive playlists may appear in the Lobby in place of your persistent stock. This is a visual problem only.
  • The legendary weekly mission to ‘get headshots’ is not always visible after completing the first stage of the mission.
  • Players can receive air damage when falling into a car.
  • Players and spectators may notice inconsistent camera or stuttering behavior after being near a car they have recently driven and then left.
  • Total bars appearing as 0 in a match.
  • Assets appearing invisible in alpha performance mode.
  • Game crashed when accessing the Compete tab on PlayStation / Xbox.
  • Sand Tunneling temporarily disabled.

As it happens every week with these unofficial patch notes, it is an ever-changing beast. If we find something that has changed and was not included here in the Fortnite v15.21 patch notes, we will update it as soon as possible.

Until then, come in and see for yourself! Remember to thank the bus driver …
