UPDATE 2: Additional patch notes for Fortnite update 15.20 have been revealed by Epic Games.
Available for download now, update 15.20 features the Lever Action Shotgun, which is available in regular withdrawals. This adds to the brand new Hop Rock Dualies Exotic, which is a double-wielded weapon that allows players to shoot down enemies while jumping across the map.
But perhaps the most exciting of all is that Predator will enter the game as this season’s secret skin. Dataminers like Lucas7Yoshi have already discovered the Predator spray, while its crashed ship can be found in Stealthy Stronghold.
Players will also be pleased to hear that Epic Games has stepped back from changes made to pre-editions in update 15.20.
“With ‘Disable pre-editions’ ON, all structures built by the player cannot be edited until they are placed in the environment, ensuring that you get the right piece every time,” explains Epic.
You can see the updated 15.20 patch notes later on the page. In the meantime, downtime has started and will run until at least 10am GMT.
UPDATE: Fortnite developer Epic Games took the game offline in preparation for the 15.20 update.
Fans can continue playing if they are already in a game, before the game goes completely offline at 9:00 GMT.
“We are starting to disable services in preparation for v15.20,” says an Epic tweet. “If you are currently in a session, you can continue to play until the downtime starts at approximately 4 am ET (9 am UTC).
ORIGINAL: Fortnite update 15.20 is finally about to be released by Epic Games.
After weeks without updates, Epic came back with a new patch for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Android.
The Fortnite update 15.20 has a release date of January 13 and a release time of 9:00 GMT for fans living in the UK.
As a numbered update, it will also be released along with a server downtime, from 9am to 11am.

The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter: “Battle up close and personal in our new update.
“Version 15.20 is scheduled for release on January 13th. Downtime for the update will start at approximately 4:00 am ET (9:00 am UTC).”
The tweet’s text suggests that there will be a new short-range weapon. Leaked files indicate a new Run Gun, which makes players run faster when equipped. This would certainly allow you to get closer to your opponent.
The new update should also contain a new Hunter skin. Rumors suggest that Predator will enter the game, which is definitely related to the current season’s theme.
According to previous patch notes, update 15.20 will also make several bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, which you can read about below.

In the meantime, Agent Jones is bringing some big guns with the next pair of Hunters to join the chaos.
• Pre-edit options: Redux
– We listened to your comments in response to our pre-editions at 15.10 and made adjustments to the configuration. With ‘Disable pre-editions ON’, all structures built by the player cannot be edited until they are placed in the environment, ensuring that you get the right piece every time.

REAL BATTLE
• Game crashed when accessing the Compete tab on PlayStation / Xbox
– Sometimes the game may freeze or appear stuck when players access the Compete tab on PlayStation or Xbox.

MOBILE
• Voice chat issues on Android
– We are investigating voice chat issues for players on Android devices.
• The player loses all movement after jumping to Ground Zero
– Players are unable to move after skipping Point Zero.
