Fifteen days creator Epic Games is turning its attention to cinema. Deadline reports that Epic will lend its Unreal Engine technology to the animation studio Hook Up, as well as to DuermeVela and FilmSharks, as an investment in the next film Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh is inspired by the mythological hero of the same name and follows his titular character on a mission to obtain immortality. Argentine filmmaker Tomás Lipgot must direct.
The film is funded by Epic’s MegaGrants initiative, a $ 100 million pledge that allows developers, educators, filmmakers and others to use Unreal Engine in their projects. Shows how Westworld and The Mandalorian I’ve used Unreal for camera effects and digital sets. Gilgamesh will be available in English and Spanish.
