A recent rumor suggests that Lara Croft may be appearing as a playable character skin in Fortnite.
With characters like Master Chief and Kratos, it’s no surprise that Epic Games is looking to expand the crossover skins cast. Each of these skins comes from different publishers and developers, so expanding to Tomb Raider would mean some communication with Square Enix.
This new skin would add to the long list of publishers with skins already in the game, such as Master Chief from Microsoft, Kratos from Sony, The Mandalorian from Disney and The Walking Dead from AMC.
According to a Twitter post by a popular leaker Mang0e, there are new strings in the game code referencing “Typhoon”, which will be a female character, with reactive styles.
Commentators on the tweet shared some of his speculation, saying the character could also be Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn, or even Samus of Metroid.
Since this skin has reactive styles, it is possible that, as the player is damaged, the skin will become more bloody, similar to the way the health system works in Tomb Raider.
Adding to the fire is an additional tweet from the official Twitter account of Tomb Raider, which shows a pick, a girl (Lara Croft) and a bow, causing a possible Fortnite appearance.
This could also just be a Tomb Raider teaser in general, but the timing of this leak is definitely interesting. The current Fortnite season is scheduled to end on March 16, 2021, so let’s find out if these rumors are true anytime soon.
Of course, this is not a confirmation that Lara Croft will come to Fortnite, but we can still wait, as the information points to her appearance in the game.
