Fort Bragg soldier kills pregnant wife and shoots himself

A Fort Bragg soldier shot deadly his pregnant wife – who was supposed to be born on Christmas day – before pointing the gun at himself on Sunday night, according to reports.

Team Sgt Keith Lewis, 31, allegedly carried out the fatal shooting while the couple’s 3-year-old daughter was with them at their home in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the Army Times reported.

Keith Lewis was pronounced dead on the scene. His wife, Sarah Lewis, 34, was taken to the hospital, but she and her unborn child could not be saved.

“It is a complete shock. It’s like a horror movie, ”Sarah’s aunt Tammy De Mirza told WRAL.

“She was lively, fun, cheerful and quiet and really had a heart to serve,” said the aunt to the news station.

Sarah should have her fourth child – and the second with Keith, her second husband, the report said.

The mother was also in the military until the birth of her first child, family members told WRAL.

Police in 2016 responded to the Lewises’ home for a domestic dispute, but no charges were filed, reported the Fayetteville Observer.
