Former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced on Monday that she would run for the Arkansas government in 2022.
“As a governor, I will defend your right to be free from socialism and tyranny,” said Sanders in his nearly eight-minute launch. video. “Our state needs a leader with the courage to do what is right, not what is politically correct or convenient.”

“With your support, I hope to be the first woman to lead our state as governor,” she continued.
Daughter of former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, Sanders would create a kind of Arkansas political dynasty if he won. She has been widely encouraged to run for former President Donald Trump since his departure from the White House in June 2019.
“My father always said that the true test of a leader is not the way you deal with problems that you know are coming, but rather a crisis that you could never plan for,” said Sanders in the video. “I was tested under fire.”
Her father, a Fox News contributor, was quick to show his support.
“A truly remarkable lady has just announced that she is applying for my old job. [government] housing in which she grew up. See the video. Support her [with] prayer [and] contributions! Giddy up! “, Huckabee wrote in Twitter.
Sanders plans to replace current Republican Party governor, Asa Hutchinson, who is restricted by term limits from running for reelection next year. Sanders joins a Republican primary guy who already includes two elected leaders across the state, Lt. Governor Tim Griffin and Attorney General Leslie Rutledge.

Sanders joined the Fox News channel as a paid payer in September 2019. A spokesman for Fox News Media confirmed on Sunday that his contribution contract with the network was terminated.
