EXCLUSIVE: Former President Donald J. Trump hit President Biden as the border crisis unfolded further, telling Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo in “Fox News Primetime”
Trump told Fox News Primetime that he and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador have built a “great relationship” with a joint interest in controlling illegal immigration and building an efficient border wall.
“[Lopez Obrador] he is a great gentleman. We had a very good relationship. They had 28,000 soldiers on our border while we were building the wall … and they were also stopping them on the northern border with Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, “he said.
“Today, they are coming. Take a look. They are coming from foreign countries. I see that they are coming from Yemen. They are coming from the Middle East. They are coming from everywhere,” he said. “They are leaving them out and are arriving in our country. It is a shame.”
“They will destroy our country if we don’t do something about it.”

Trump was irritated that Biden had “eroded” the progress that his government made at the border in terms of national security and selection of asylum seekers.
“Frankly, our country cannot cope [the increase in migrants]. It is a crisis that we rarely had and certainly never had at the border. But it will get much worse. “
During the interview, Bartiromo asked the former president if he would recommend his supporters to voluntarily receive the coronavirus vaccine, noting that a considerable number of Republicans remain restless or are opposed to receiving the injection at this time.
“Me,” Trump replied. “I would and would recommend it to many people who don’t want to get it and many of those people voted for me, frankly.”
“But then again, we have our freedoms and we have to live for them and I agree with that too. But it is a great vaccine. It is a safe vaccine and it works. ”
Trump said that pharmaceutical companies and the FDA have been working “24 hours a day” to develop the various vaccines.
During his interview, Trump also criticized Biden and the Democrats for increasing gas prices by almost $ 1 or more since the new president’s executive orders restricting energy production and transportation in the United States.
“When I see what’s going on, we were independent of energy. Gas prices are rising at a much faster rate than anyone has seen in a long time. We had very low gas prices and yet we had more jobs in the energy sector than we have ever had, “said Trump.
Trump said that while Biden and his party are looking for massive tax hikes, the increase in gas prices amounts to an even more onerous “tax” in his mind.
“[T]hey is going to go up $ 1, $ 2, $ 3, when you look at that, and it’s higher than a tax hike for the consumer, “he argued.”[If] you get a dollar increase in gasoline, which is greater than a big tax increase. So, it’s a terrible thing that’s happening. “
Trump predicted that Democrats will raise taxes to “as many as we have ever seen” and that this will be “devastating” for the economy.
Prior to his interview, Trump recently spoke out against the growing crisis on the U.S. border with Mexico, where illegal immigrants and asylum seekers overburdened federal authorities, while the Biden government halted construction of the ex-president’s wall.
“Our border is now totally out of control thanks to Joe Biden’s disastrous leadership. Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demoted and ridiculed by the Biden administration,” Trump said in a statement released earlier this month.
“A massive foray into the country by people who shouldn’t be here is happening hourly, getting worse by the minute. Many have a criminal record and many more have and are spreading. Internal surveillance has ended – criminals who were promptly removed by our administration, they are now being returned to the streets to commit heinous and violent crimes.
“ICE officials are desperate to remove these convicted criminals, but Biden won’t let them,” he continued.
Trump also exploded the crisis as a “spiraling tsunami” caused by Biden, pointing to border communities being “oppressed” by illegal immigrants who remain untested for coronavirus, despite strict federal restrictions on American citizens who engage in travel and business.
“The Biden administration must act immediately to end the border nightmare they have unleashed on our nation. Keep China’s illegal immigration, crime and virus out of our country!” Trump was angry when he closed his comments on March 5.
Since leaving office, Trump has moved from New York City to Palm Beach, Florida, and established the “Office of the Former President”.

He issued a handful of political endorsements ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, including for Ohio Congressional candidate Max Miller, a Republican who seeks to oust Representative Anthony Gonzalez, R-Ohio. Gonzalez, a former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver, voted for Trump’s impeachment in January.
He also promised to visit Alaska to campaign for any Republican candidate in the primaries for Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, for similar reasons. Trump also endorsed his former press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is running for the Arkansas government.
