Former Oregon Ducks QB Tyler Shough announces transfer to Texas Tech

EUGENE – Former Oregon defender Tyler Shough is heading to Big 12.

Shough, who entered the transfer portal earlier this month, announced it will go to Texas Tech to continue your career.

The Pac-12 leader in passer efficiency (160.38) last season, Shough went 106 to 167 (63.5%) for 1,559 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions and had 66 carries for 271 yards and two scores.

Shough’s statistics regressed from November to December, prompting Anthony Brown to play a more prominent role in the Pac-12 Championship Game and Fiesta Bowl. Shough was just 7 from 9 to 79 yards with a late Fiesta Bowl interception, which he started making 3 of 3 to 41 yards, but was replaced in favor of Brown and did not reappear until the end of the third quarter.

The Chandler, Arizona native joins a quarterback room in Lubbock, which saw holder Alan Bowman transfer in January and has Henry Colombi, who started in the middle of last season, returning after launching 1,064 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions in six games in 2020.

Shough has three years left of eligibility and, if he uses them all, he will have a chance to play Oregon in 2023.
