Former New York Giants player Louis Nix reported missing

Louis Nix, a former Giants striker who survived a shootout in December, was reported missing by his mother.

Nix left his father’s home in Jacksonville, Florida, around 10 am on Tuesday and did not return, according to a missing person poster shared on social media.

Nix’s mother told Action News Jacksonville that she believes her son is in danger because “This is out of the ordinary for him.”

She said “you can’t call him because his voicemail is full and the people he talks to daily haven’t heard from him, [which is] I do not like him. “

Nix was shot during an attempted theft while putting air on his vehicle’s tires at a Jacksonville gas station in December.

“I’m alive, guys,” wrote Nix on Twitter on December 9. “The bullet that hit me bounced off my sternum and hit my lung. Surgery is the next step, so keep praying for me. Thank you all for the positive energy and prayers. “

Nix’s mother said she did not think this was related to the previous shooting and that since then, Nix “did not like to go anywhere and look around.”

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had no further information on Nix’s situation when contacted by The Post

Anyone with information about Nix’s whereabouts should call the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, according to the missing person’s poster.

The 29-year-old Notre Dame product was made by the Texans in 2014. He played four games for the 2015 Giants after being removed from the exemption, but was cut before the start of the 2016 season.

“NOTRE DAME Nation: We will all do our best to reach out and connect with Louis Nix,” tweeted Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly on Sunday. “Louis, tell us that you are fine or that you may need help from your family and friends NOTRE DAME.”
