Former Florida and South Carolina coach Will Muschamp has been seen hanging around Athens, Georgia, in recent days. According to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Muschamp spent the entire day at the facility.
It was speculated that Muschamp might join the Bulldog team in some way, probably in an off-field role. As a former Georgia player with many connections to Kirby Smart, it would make sense if this were his next step after being fired by South Carolina in his fifth season as a coach.
When asked about his purpose in the installation, Muschamp rejected any speculation about employment.
“Visiting my son and talking,” was all Muschamp said before jumping into his truck in a technical assistant’s seat at 7:30 pm on Wednesday and leaving. He declined further comments.
Muschamp’s son Jackson is a freshman quarterback in a red shirt in Georgia.
It looks like nothing has been finalized yet, but it would be no surprise if Muschamp joined the Bulldogs in some way.
