Police responded last Thursday to a home in Simpsonville, SC, after receiving a call about a child who did not respond and who was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital, the outlet said.

The child was identified by the Greenville County coroner’s office as Victoria Rose Smith, 3, and died of blunt injuries, according to a medical examination.
