There’s nothing like an expansion in retail to get your day off to a great start, especially as a commercial news writer, and Food Lion, owned by Ahold, has it all for us. The grocer has announced that he will expand his presence on the East Coast with the addition of two new stores in South Carolina. Located in Chesnee and Inman, the new locations will allow the retailer to extend its reach in the region’s growing market.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue my career at Food Lion,” said Tina Bennet, store manager for the new location in Chesnee, according to Announce. “I am also grateful to continue to serve members and the community when we open our new Food Lion. I look forward to seeing our neighbors and seeing them enjoying the new store. “
Local news source GoUpstate reported that these two stores opened on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Each store is now housed in facilities that were previously occupied by BI-LO.
Both stores will feature a multitude of take-out dining options, hand-breaded fried chicken and fresh 100% USDA Choice beef, among other interesting products.
“I called Inman home for 23 years and I’m honored to be part of the new Food Lion,” said Wade Dunagin, store manager for Inman’s new location. “I am excited to serve the community in which I call home. I look forward to giving Inman a store and a team she can always count on. “
