Following Houston Texans defeats Miami Dolphins first and second round selections closed

In addition to the Miami Dolphins game today against Buffalo Bills, the other big game of interest for Phins fans outside, perhaps, the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars (I hope no one really believed that the Jags would take that away) was Tennessee Titans and Houston Game Texans. Aside from the fact that many Dolphins fans followed the Titans now that Ryan Tannehill is the titleholder, the biggest problem was whether the Texans would lose today or not. With the victory, the Titans claimed the division title at AFC South, but the most important thing for Dolphins fans was the fact that the Texans lost and thus gave us the number three overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft .

As many fans remember, the Dolphins were a huge hit with the Houston Texans before the start of the 2019 season. The Texans, in the business, received Miami’s left-wing highlight, Laremy Tunsil, wideout Kenny Stills, the 4th round of 2020 Miami and the 2021 6th round of Miami. In return, the Dolphins received the Texans 2020 and 2021 choices from the first round, their choice from the 2021 second round and special coach Johnson Bademosi, in addition to Julien Davenport.

Then, after last season’s trade and the 2020 season, a season in which the Texans laid an egg by managing just four wins and seeing their coach and general manager fired in the middle of the year, the Dolphins will receive third overall choice through Houston and the 18th overall choice, your own choice based on your track record and not making it to the playoffs. As for the second round, the Dolphins will receive the 38th overall choice, the Texans’ choice in last year’s trade and the 50th choice, our own second round.

This is a team that clearly could still use a player with Tunsil’s talent on the offensive line, but the exchange seems to get better and better with time. I’m sure that when the Miami bosses made this big deal before last season, they never imagined they would end up with choice number three in the 2021 draft. Depending on how the team bosses see the development of new quarterback Tua Tagovailoa this season , the general choice of number three gives Miami plenty of freedom to make any decision that is necessary, whether it be choosing another defender, which is not what I believe will happen, but as I do not have the ear of the gentlemen who make these decisions, I don’t know, or negotiate and add even more choices for some other hungry quarterback team, as there are always a lot of them.
