Floridians aged 16 and 17 will soon be eligible for this vaccine COVID-19 – WFTV

ORLANDO, Florida – Floridians aged 16 and over will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine on the same day that all adults in the state will receive the vaccines.

The Florida Emergency Management Division said on Friday that people aged 16 and over can receive the Pfizer vaccine starting April 5.

At the moment, the Pfizer vaccine is the only version currently authorized for children under 18 years of age.

The announcement comes along with news from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis that all Florida residents 18 and older would be eligible for the vaccine starting April 5.

Before that, on Monday of next week, the age for eligibility for vaccines will drop to 40 or more across the state.
