This “gran” scheme didn’t go very far …
Two Florida women dressed up as “grandparents” in an attempt to get vaccinated against COVID-19, health officials said on Thursday.
His crazy costume included “the hats, the gloves, the glasses – the whole thing,” said Dr. Raul Pino, director of the Florida Department of Health in Orange County.
Workers at the Orange County Convention Center vaccination site noted that the women “looked funny” and stopped them before they could get the vaccines, said Pino, according to WKMG-TV.
There was also a problem with the identities and driver’s licenses provided, Pino noted.

Pino said he did not know how they got the first shot, and it is not clear whether they used the same device.
“I don’t know how they escaped the first time,” he said.

The incident was handed over to local authorities, who issued property invasion notices to women.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said one of the women was 44 and the other 34, the local WWL-TV network reported.
In Florida, only adults age 65 and older, healthcare professionals and residents and employees living with children are eligible for the vaccine.

Pino said the number of people trying to impersonate their identities to get the photo is probably “more than we expected”.
As a result, security increased at the vaccination site, he said.
