The Florida Gators 2021 recruiting class is currently ranked 12th in the country, with 24 members. Of those 24 students in the class, 22 names signed earlier with the Florida team, which officially ended the recruitment process. The Gators will have several of these names on campus in the next few days, with most of them arriving on Friday.
Canonsburg Security (PA) Peters Township Top247 Donovan McMillon he has already been transferred to his dormitory after arriving in Gainesville on 6 January. He was the first name in the Gator crop of early registrants to settle on campus. McMillon is a very physical presence as a security guard and will bring a strong attitude to the defensive secondary.
Carrollton (GA) Heard County linebacker four stars Frontiers Chiefs also arrived in Gainesville and will be another name to be sought to help reinforce the defense of the Gators he fought in 2020.
Two crown jewels from the Florida 2021 class also arrived on campus on Friday, as well as in Miami (Florida), Palmetto teammates Jason Marshall and Corey Collier. The two committed to the Gators in August and never looked back. The two signed earlier with the Gators and arrived at The Swamp to compete for playing time early next season. These are two names that will benefit greatly from acclimating to the program earlier and will also see great help if there is a football season in the spring later this year. Another secondary name of Gators in the city and registered is Tampa (Florida) Gaither, three cornerback stars Jordan Young.
The Gators also welcomed both hired from the 2021 quarterback to campus on Friday, as well as with four stars Carlos Del Rio-Wilson and three stars Jalen Kitna entering. Both defenders bring a different skill set to the table. They will mix well with the other defenders that the Gators already have in their squad.
Florida saw a stellar tight end Kyle Pitts leave after a monstrous junior season. UF signed two tight ends in the 2021 cycle and welcomed one of those names as one of the first to enter the three stars Nick Elksnis. Another pass receiver for the Gators in Gainesville as one of the first entrants is the four star wide receiver Loganville (GA) Grayson Daejon Reynolds.
The defensive line was an area where the Gators focused heavily on the 2021 cycle. The team welcomed Sumter (SC )’s four-star defensive edge Justus Boone in the city on Friday as a first enrollee. Fort Myers (Florida) Dunbar’s three-star defensive download Christopher Thomas also informed Swamp247 that he is already in Gainesville on Friday. Another early entrant expected in the trenches is Seffner (Florida), Armwood, three stars, defensive tackle Desmond Watson. However, he informed Swamp247 that he will not be in Gainesville until next week, Monday is the first day of classes.
The Gators also received the Penn State graduation transfer Antonio Shelton to campus on Friday as well. He committed to the Gators earlier in the week, after joining the NCAA transfer portal in December. He brings strength and size to the inner part of the defensive line of the Gators, who would be inexperienced in 2021. Another transfer player who announced his intentions in early fall to join UF is Clemson’s ex-running back and ex-five stars Demarkcus Bowman, who informed Swamp247 that he was likely to be in Gainesville on Saturday.
