Florida Republicans welcome Trump’s political activity in the area: ‘He’s the president of our city’

Florida Republicans have been welcoming former President Trump – and his political activity – into the State of the Sun since he left office, calling him “president of the hometown”.

The president, who moved to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, has already established an official post-presidency office to oversee his affairs and has already met with Republican Party leader Kevin McCarthy – just 9 days after leaving the White House.

And Republicans in Florida are hailing the activity, saying the party will “be fueled by the advancement of Donald Trump”.

“When he wants to have an event, we would build an event around him,” Christian Ziegler, vice president of the Florida Republican Party, told Orlando Sentinel. “If he wants to visit the state, we will make it easier. It’s his party ”.

He added: “He is the president of our city”.

Ziegler’s comment came shortly after Trump met McCarthy, R-Calif., In Mar-a-Lago, where the two agreed to work together for Republicans to take the Chamber back in 2022.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach County Republican Party chairman Michael Barnett told Sentinel that hundreds of Republican Party members must attend the Palm Beach County Republican Party’s annual dinner in Mar-a-Lago in April. Barnett told Sentinel that he expects Trump to attend.

“If he is available, I hope he will come down from the residence, say hello and say a little,” Barnett told The Sentinel.

McCarthy, who once said Trump “bears responsibility” for the deadly January 6 riot on Capitol Hill, met with Trump in Florida for a “very nice and cordial” meeting, where McCarthy received Trump’s support in promoting candidates Republicans in the next election, according to a Trump team reading.

“President Trump has agreed to work with leader McCarthy to help the Republican Party become a majority in the House,” according to a Trump-aligned Save America PAC statement. “They worked very well together in the last election and got at least 15 seats when most predicted it would be the other way around. They will do it again, and the work has started.”

McCarthy welcomed Trump’s commitment to help elect Republicans in the House and Senate.

“For the sake of our country, the radical Democratic agenda must be stopped,” McCarthy said in a statement. “A united conservative movement will strengthen the bonds of our citizens and defend the freedoms on which our country was founded.”

An aide familiar with the meeting told Fox News that the meeting was important to move the Republican Party forward.

“They are recovering because McCarthy will be in the neighborhood,” the aide told Fox News. “They have been doing well for some time and it will be important for the party to move on.”

TRUMP CREATES ‘EX-PRESIDENT’S OFFICE’ IN FLORIDA

The Palm Beach confabulation was organized after the Trump team heard that the Republican Party leader was raising funds in Florida as part of his effort to replace Nancy Pelosi as mayor after the 2022 elections. The Trump team invited McCarthy to go to Mar-a-lago and McCarthy reorganized his schedule to attend, Fox News learned.

The Trump team alerted the media about the meeting, sources told Fox. Trump has been relatively quiet following the January 6 Capitol rebellion, subsequent impeachment and loss of his Twitter social media platform.

McCarthy believes that everyone should be talking instead of going to their corners, and that includes talking to the Biden administration as well, sources told Fox News.

Despite Republican Party defeats in the Senate and the White House, Republicans defied expectations in the House, changing 13 seats from blue to red and winning a 14th seat in Michigan, occupied by libertarian Justin Amash.

Republicans could potentially get a 15th place in New York in a dispute between Republican Claudia Tenney and Democrat Anthony Brindisi that has yet to be decided. Democrats currently hold a narrow 221-211 advantage in the House, with three seats, putting the Republican Party in a good position to get seats during the mid-term, which traditionally favors the party that opposes the incumbent president.

Trump’s impeachment trial is set to begin in the Senate the week of February 8.

Meanwhile, a statement from the Trump office said that the Office of the Former President will be responsible for his “correspondence, public statements, appearances and official activities”.

“The Office will also” promote the interests of the United States and … carry out the Trump administration’s agenda through advocacy, organization and public activism. “

Speculation about Trump’s post-presidency ranges from the possibility of starting his media company to running for a second term in 2024.
