Florida mom shows up at school wearing boxing glove, fight with student: police

A Florida mother showed up at her daughter’s school with a boxing glove – and allegedly attacked a student, officials said.

Edith Riddle, 34, of Jacksonville, was arrested on a child abuse charge stemming from the alleged beating last week at Dupont Middle School, the KVUE news station reported.

Police said the school’s security officer heard a “frantic” announcement on the school’s radio system about a fight outside the cafeteria around noon on March 18.

When the officer got there, he found Riddle in a physical altercation with a student.

Riddle was on campus for a meeting with the deputy principal and his daughter, the officers said.

Instead of leaving the building, the daughter went straight to the cafeteria to fight a girl, the police said.

Witnesses told police that Riddle’s daughter pushed the girl and punched her – before the mother also allegedly started beating the victim.

Strangely, a spectator told authorities that the mother appeared to have a boxing glove attached to her left hand.

Riddle was already wearing the glove when he arrived on campus – insisting it was super glued to his wrist and she couldn’t remove it, according to KVUE.

The girl had bruises on her knees and forearms, officials said. Subsequently, she was taken to the hospital for a follow-up evaluation.
