Florida man Kolby Parker killed his grandfather and then cut off his ears, police say

When Kolby Parker told the police how his 77-year-old grandfather, Ronal Wells Sr., died, he claimed that he had stabbed the older man in self-defense after being attacked. But when Parker pulled Wells’s severed ears out of his pants pockets while being questioned, they knew there was more to this story. Once involved in the horrific murder, Parker allegedly launched himself at a police officer in the room in an attempt to grab the Taser and the policeman’s weapon, according to the Orlando Sentinel, who reported that Parker later confessed to hitting his grandfather on the head with a baseball bat before stabbing him several times with a butcher knife and then cutting his ears. Parker explained that “it was your time to go,” said the arrest report quoted by Sentinel. In a search of the bedroom at Wells’ house, where Parker lived, investigators said they found an apron with human blood ears attached to it and emblazoned with the phrase “The family butcher”.

Parker is charged with second-degree murder and is held without bail.
