‘Judge, you are so beautiful’: a Florida man facing an assault attempt hits the judge during a virtual hearing – but the flirtation fails when she orders him to be kept behind bars

  • Demetrius Lewis appeared before Broward County Judge Tabitha Blackmon via Zoom on Thursday
  • The accused criminal was impressed by the beauty of the judge and started to flirt with her
  • ‘Judge, you are so beautiful … I just have to say, you are beautiful,’ Lewis cooed
  • His flattery did little to help his legal case, with Judge Blackmon ordering Lewis to be kept on $ 5,000 bail for attempted theft
  • He has spent four years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

A Florida man facing an attempted robbery is making headlines after flirting with the judge who is presiding over his case.

Demetrius Lewis appeared before Broward County Judge Tabitha Blackmon through a Zoom hearing on Thursday, alleging that he tried to break into a Fort Lauderdale home while three children were sleeping inside.

Video of Lewis hitting Blackmon has since gone viral on social media, having been viewed more than a million times.

‘How are you, how are you?’ Lewis asks in the clip when he appears in Zoom’s call.

The accused criminal then notices Blackmon on his screen and says: ‘Judge, you are so beautiful … I just have to tell you, you are beautiful.’

Lewis continues with his praise, telling Blackmon that he ‘loves’ her.

Blackmon seems somewhat amused by the comments, before replying, ‘Okay, Mr Lewis. Flattery will take you everywhere. But maybe not here. ‘

In fact, Lewis’s proclamations of affection did little to impress the judge, who ordered him to be kept on $ 5,000 bail.

Lewis has spent four years in prison, according to The New York Post.

He was reportedly released in 2019 after serving time for serious assault with a deadly weapon.

But while Lewis’ flirtation did not guarantee his freedom, it did make social media users amused.

‘What does he have to lose at the moment?’ a Twitter user asked humorously below the video, which was shared by WSVN.

‘You lose 100% of the shots you don’t take!’ another joked.

Meanwhile, others agreed with Lewis’ claim that Judge Blackmon was’ handsome ‘.

‘I don’t blame you!’ one joined the conversation.

Last year, Blackmon was nominated for Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit County by Governor Ron DeSantis.

Previously, she served as a prosecutor for the state prosecutor and as a prosecutor for the prosecutor.
