Florida coronavirus cases exceed 1.5 million

Florida surpassed 1.5 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 when approximately 15,000 new cases were identified on Tuesday, according to the state Department of Health.

Overall, the State of the Sun appears to be the nation’s third for the majority of COVID-19 cases reported to date, California and Texas, the two most populous states, are in first and second place, respectively.

In addition, there were 156 new deaths in Florida from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths from the state’s coronavirus to 23,227.

Amid the worrying news, flashes of hope also emerged, with state health officials noting that, as of Tuesday, more than 648,000 people in the state had been vaccinated against COVID-19, with more than 51,000 people in the state receiving both doses Pfizer -Jab from BioNTech or Moderna.
