FKA twigs reports alleged abuse by Shia LaBeouf

FKA twigs is speaking out.

The 33-year-old singer and songwriter, born Tahliah Barnett, filed a lawsuit in December accusing Shia LaBeouf, 34, of abusing her during her previous relationship.

In the lawsuit – which also included similar accusations from another actor’s ex – Barnett accused the star of abusing her “relentlessly” physically, mentally and emotionally.

Not long after the lawsuit was filed, LaBeouf issued a response in which he denied “any and all” allegations made by Barnett and claimed that she “suffered no injury or harm as a result [his] shares.”

Now Barnett has spoken to Gayle King of CBS to talk about the alleged ordeal and talk about how things have escalated between the two.

The relationship had warning signs from the beginning, the singer said.

“In the beginning, he would jump over the fence where I was and leave flowers outside my door and poems and books,” she reminded King during an interview with CBS This Morning. “I thought it was very romantic, but that changed quickly. I understand now that this is testing its limits.”

Barnett said he has now realized that it is “inappropriate” to jump over a fence. “This is breaking a limit, but it doesn’t stop there,” she explained.

“His behavior gradually became more and more abusive,” said Barnett.

A LaBeouf representative did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.

Barnett used the term “love bomb” in her accusations against the “Holes” star, which she explained as “putting me on a pedestal, telling me that I was incredible, exaggerated displays of affection, just to knock me off the pedestal. , to tell me that I was worthless, to criticize myself, to scold me, to destroy me ”, he claimed.

The star also stated that she was required to offer “a certain amount of physical affection a day” by LaBeouf, including touching and kissing. She claimed that she needed to do 20 displays of physical affection a day.

According to Barnett, LaBeouf reportedly “lit” it, which she described as when “someone minimizes your experience and is altering your narrative and is not listening to you and denying your experience”.

“Eventually, he became a physicist,” she stated before claiming, “There were certain cases where he would pressure me and say, ‘You fell’ and I was really confused and thought, ‘Maybe I fell.'”

She also recounted a trip the couple took to a spa, where she claimed to have seen LaBeouf “speeding up the highway and saying that if I left him or said I didn’t love him and would leave him, he would break the car against the Wall. “

Barnett said that at the time, she thought LaBeouf desperately needed control, that he would have preferred to “kill us” than to lose control.

Then, she claimed, LaBeouf stopped at a gas station where he picked her up, threw her against the car and started “strangling” her.

“That’s when I realized, ‘I need help to get out of this relationship,'” the “Two Weeks” singer told King.

Barnett said that originally, she “didn’t want” to sue the “Honey Boy” star, but “wanted to make sure he got help in particular so he couldn’t hurt anyone the way he hurt me.”

She said she asked LaBeouf to donate money to charity as well, but he allegedly didn’t, so she filed the lawsuit.

Regarding LaBeouf’s statement in which he said he “regrets” his “abusive” behavior towards those in his life, Barnett said she remembered the alleged “fire” that she accused him of.

“I couldn’t carry it anymore. I felt like I was cracking,” she told King about presenting her charges. “Whereas now I feel like I have returned his dysfunction and it is his.”

She is currently feeling “brave,” Barnett noted.
