Five star QB Gunner Stockton bets on UGA football

The Georgia Bulldogs football program got another appointment from quarterback Gunner Stockton. Stockton, a member of the 2022 class, is classified as a five-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 1 double threat quarterback in his class.

Stockton plays football at Rabun County High School in Tiger, Georgia. He was originally committed to South Carolina under the team of Will Muschamp and Mike Bobo. Then the Gamecocks fired Will Muschamp and Mike Bobo left for Auburn.

As a result, the 6-foot-1, 220-pound quarterback gave up. He made his decision a few weeks ago, following changes in the South Carolina technical team.

Kirby Smart and the University of Georgia have seven appointments in the 2022 class. All appointments are from prospects in the state, including two five-star recruits.

The five-star recruit quarterback shocked some people at the SEC with his decision, because Georgia has 2021 five-star quarterback Brock Vandagriff as one of the first entrants. Many expected him to follow Mike Bobo and commit to Auburn. Georgia had been in Stockton’s top two for several months, so he always had a good regard for the Dawgs.
