Here are five noteworthy numbers during the South Carolina football game on Saturday night against Kentucky in Lexington.

72

This is the number of yards required for Kevin Harris of the second year of the USC to post the 11th season of 1,000-yard racing in school history. Eight Gamecocks have reached that milestone (George Rogers has done this three times) with current Carolina Panther Mike Davis being the last to do so in 2013.

Interim coach Mike Bobo acknowledged that the team is extremely motivated to help their teammate get there, although the imminent achievement does not change their style of play.

“You can’t approach a game like that,” said Bobo. “If there is a certain part at the end when the game is out of control, you can tell what it is doing and it needs another load, but you are trying to win the game. Because it is a vital part of our attack and with (Deshaun) Fenwick down and, being the last game, he will have enough shipments to have that opportunity. “

Harris is also three touchdowns chasing Marcus Lattimore’s school season record, 17, and five touchdowns to match Lattimore’s overall record of 19 touchdowns. Harris set the record for a single game in the program earlier this year, with five touchdowns in Mississippi.

115.6

That’s the worst Kentucky Yard pass average per game, 69 less than any other team in the league. The Wildcats’ 1,040 passing yards are 240 fewer than any other in the conference and are the last with 195 attempts and 114 completions and penultimate with a completion percentage of 58.5.

58

That’s the number of yards that senior Shi Smith needs to move the 2,233 from Gaffney’s former student Sidney Rice to sixth on the school’s career list. Smith, who told Bobo that he plans this to be his last season in college, is in fourth place with 171 career receptions, 12 behind Philadelphia’s Alshon Jeffery for third place. Smith left the game against Missouri two weeks ago with a concussion in the opening series. He returned to training later this week in a non-contact capacity and is questionable to play.

232.9

This is the average passing yards per game allowed by Kentucky, which ranks second in the SEC. Wildcats also occupy second place in the fewest touchdown passes allowed with 10 and more interceptions, with 12 in fourth place nationally. The high school suffered a blow this week when defender Kelvin Joseph announced that he is opting for the rest of the season. He had four SEC-led interceptions, attempting the fourth nationally, in addition to 25 tackles.

14-198

That’s the number of receptions and yards accumulated by USC Nick Muse’s senior tight end over the past two games, an increase in production helped by the absence of Smith and the insertion of fresh quarterback Luke Doty over the past six quarters. Throughout his first seven games, Muse totaled 16 receptions for 227 yards. He scored his first USC touchdown in last week’s loss to Georgia.
