Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach is released this year

It’s weird to see Five Nights At Freddy’s grow from a simple jumpscare fest to a complete first-person horror game where you have to run and hide from deathbots, but here we are. During Sony’s State Of Play live broadcast last night, they revealed Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach to be released in 2021, and we took a proper look at their gameplay. Players will be exploring a shopping mall at night, diving into ball pits and running through closed stores to avoid being hunted by bloodthirsty animatronics.

There is a part in this trailer where a terrifying and mutilated robot crawls off a slide in a children’s play area, and I don’t want any of that at all. I haven’t been to a mall like this for over a year and, after playing this game, I don’t think I’ll ever want to go.

Security Breach is set to be the biggest game in the series, moving from older, almost point-and-click games, to a first-person experience where players can freely explore this giant mall. It appears to be a continuation of the FNAF VR game, Help Wanted, and is being made by the same developers, Steel Wool Studios.

I admit that I am one of those people who really like Five Nights At Freddy’s lore – if you can call it lore, most of the time it’s like reading conspiracy theories – so I’m really excited about this one. Well, I’m looking forward to buying the game, loading it, and then immediately passing control to someone else and watching them play.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is scheduled to arrive later this year on PC, PS4 and PS5.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be waiting for all the theoretical FNAF YouTubers to start posting new videos. I bet they had a field day with that trailer.
