Five last-minute predictions for the season of the chosen ones in Destiny 2

I don’t know exactly why I’m doing this to myself, but I’m going to predict a lot of things for the next season, and then we can check in later to see if I was right or wrong about everything. I think we can extrapolate a fair amount of what we’ve seen here so far, and that’s what I can see on the horizon for Destiny 2 Chosen Season.

1. The Caiatl Alliance

We already know the basics of this season’s plot. Caiatl arrives and wants to form an alliance, as we are both fighting Darkness and Savathun and Xivu Arath. But Zavala is not going to submit to Caiatl, so let’s start fighting. But what are we really doing? I think that the whole plot of this season and the activities of the “Battlefield” where we fight with the “Champions of Caiatl” is to be a test. I mean, there is literally something called the Trial Hammer and the new hit is called the Trial Field. We are proving ourselves to Caiatl as worthy warriors and I believe so, in the end, we will end up in an alliance with Caiatl after showing her our strength. I think destroying the Red Legion and playing all Leviathan Calus games was not enough, but I think that’s where this is going.

2. Tex Mechanica’s exotic secret is not the first curse

I know there are some First Curse fans out there who would like to see that gun back, but I just don’t think that’s where we’re going here. We just had Hawkmoon, another exotic D1 hand cannon, presented as the main weapon for the whole of last season, so another exotic D1 hand cannon would have the same feeling. After that, when Bungie brings back exotic D1s, unless they are buried on a top secret mission like Zero Hour, they are used heavily in promotion, Hawkmoon, No Time to Explain and so on. My guess is that this is a new Tex Mechanica weapon and my hope is that it’s the lever action rifle that the community has been asking for.

3. There is a third exotic secret

I know we have one revealed (Ticuu’s Wrath) and one shown, but still secret (First Curse / Not First Curse), but two exotics in one season seem very low, and my guess is that there are any less one more coming. We also know that three new pieces of exotic armor are coming that have not been shown, but my money is on a third exotic piece to put these two together before the end of the season.

4. The apparent heir returns with his catalyst

Guardian Games is at the end of the season due to the setback after the delay of Beyond Light. It seems quite obvious that Heir Apparent (the weapon named after Caiatl, no less) will appear again for the event, which is why he was kept out of the exotic kiosk. But I also believe that we’ll finally get a catalyst for that, as it’s featured in the damn catalyst art for collections. Just like Leviathan’s Breath, and that had a catalyst last season. It seems like the perfect time for that.

5. The crow will be the avant-garde hunter at the end of the season

Almost all of my Crow predictions turned out to be wrong, but we can see that he is an important part of this season, appearing in scenes alongside Zavala while he deals with Caiatl. I believe it will be a kind of “training period” for him and, in the end, he will conquer Zavala and occupy Cayde’s old post as soon as everyone understands that he is simply not the man who killed him anymore. The paper was empty for two years. It’s time, and there are really no other candidates.

Okay, that’s all I have for now. We will check in three months to see if I was right or wrong.
