FIRST VIEW: Disney shares a peek inside Moana’s themed rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

If you follow this site daily, you have undoubtedly heard of the big changes that will take place at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this year. The hotel has not yet opened for guests beyond the Disney Vacation Club villas, but a new entrance and monorail station is underway at the Grand Ceremonial House, as well as the renovation of the rooms that will now include Moana elements. Well, today Disney is giving us the first look at these new rooms.

The reinvented spaces feature a new color palette inspired by the Pacific Ocean and its many islands, including details, patterns and textures from the successful Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana”.

Bathrooms in the reinvented rooms within Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, take inspiration from the sandy ocean floor to the bathroom tiles and the carved details of the dressing table, complementing the overall new and modern approach to these rooms. You will also see new furniture and accessories. In the bathrooms, for example, Disney Imagineers was inspired by the sandy seabed for the tiles and details carved on the dressing table. The colorful patterns found throughout the room bring a whole new energy to the space, evoking undulating waves of the ocean and tropical flowers.

The reimagination of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is just in time for the hotel’s 50th anniversary on October 1, 2021, which will be celebrated as part of the “Most Magical Celebration in the World”. Room reservations are open for the end of July 2021.
