First official analysis of Clark’s children

The trailer for Arrowverse’s latest spin-off, Superman & Lois, flies to the internet, giving fans a first look at the heroic series.

The CW has officially unveiled the first trailer for its latest Arrowverse spin-off, Superman and Lois. The Arrowverse started in 2012 with Arrow and has only grown since then. The latest series to join the ever expanding universe will bring Tyler Hoechlin’s Man of Steel to the forefront, along with Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane. The two played a key role in last year’s Crisis in the Infinite Earth crossover, and before that, Hoechlin returned to perform in Supergirl. For the first time, Lois and Superman will become the stars of their own show.

Superman and Lois will catch up with the iconic couple after the surprise turnaround that their young son now, as a result of Crisis, has become two teenage boys. After a tragic event in Metropolis, Clark and Lois decide to move to Smallville while facing parenthood along with their responsibilities as a superhero and world-famous journalist, respectively. Superman and Lois suggested that he will portray a classic Clark while offering new insight into him in his struggles to be a father.

After several online provocations, such as the first peek at Hoechlin’s new Superman costume, the CW released the first trailer for Superman and Lois before its debut in February. To say that it is not a traditional trailer would be to be frivolous, but it does offer some tips on some new footage. Check it out below.

The first trailer for Superman and Lois it provides a less clear view of the series and its plot, but instead takes a more conceptual approach. Clark’s narrative on topics of change and growth seems to speak to the show’s central premise, which seems to be about how Clark and Lois’s new circumstances shape them. In the end, Clark ties it all together with a mention of the family, further cementing how fundamental the Kent-Lane clan is to the series. Yes, this is what Superman fans know and love, but he is also driven by his wife and children.

In fact, this first look at Superman and Lois gives fans an official look at Jonathan and Jordan Kent. Both actors – Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin – were seen on the set, but this is the first chance that fans have to see them in the character. Jonathan has been described as a kind and clean boy, while Jordan is smart and more subject to social anxiety. Without a doubt, their differences will create some interesting stories and it will be exciting to see how Clark and Lois interact with their teenagers. Their presence in the trailer seems to highlight how much they mean to Clark, which could provide a convincing conflict for the hero. After all, he now has more people he cares about; how will this impact your adventures? Fans will find out in just a few months.
