First mission completed in less than 10 seconds

Blink and you will lose.

You will certainly take more time to read this sentence than Goron to complete the first objective in Hitman 3. This is pretty crazy, especially for a game that was released less than a week ago. But it also talks about variability, repetition value and absolute crazy fun in the latest title from IO Interactive.

The final chapter of the game studio’s World of Assassination trilogy is now available to players everywhere. But if players maintain the mission objectives so quickly, the total speedrun time in the game can be even faster. Take, for example, this first “On Top of the World” mission that takes place in Dubai during the opening of the largest skyscraper in the world and sees Agent 47 (who is you, the player) trying to assassinate two high-value targets. That open goal gives you the worldwide value of freedom in just how you try to achieve it; I followed the rules, got a little dishonest and was shattered as I paced the elevator shaft. Every bit of the experience was a blast. But I never came close to completing the mission in less than 10 seconds.

See how it is done below:

In case you missed or need a little explanation, first, the mission timer starts when Agent 47 enters the lobby; what you don’t see is the parachute jump and the entrance to the building outside about 180 floors. Once 47 is in the lobby, Goron fires a shot to fix the targest in place, followed by two more shots to the head well positioned with a silenced pistol to do the action. Task completed. Two stars.

Wait, just a 2-star score for an elite, lightning-fast murder? Yes! Other players managed to get a 5 star in almost twice the time, like GuLe’s star race in this first mission that earned the mark of Silent Killer. (Tip to IGN for the influence on that.) More speedrunners are currently vying for the top spot with perhaps even faster conclusions available thanks mainly to the targets’ RNG, and we can’t wait to see what comes next!

A series of ‘Harry Potter’ in live action is in initial development on HBO Max

This was as inevitable as Harry having a death duel with Voldemort.
